Prunus domestica ‘Opal’, also known as the Opal Plum Tree, produces an edible plum. This variety is very decorative, especially during the flowering period. In early spring, this tree is surrounded by small clusters of white flowers that adorn the bare branches. The flowers are followed by shiny green foliage and fruits. The fruit has a full sweet taste and a full harvest and ripens to yellow and purple tones in time for the harvest. Prunus domestica ‘Opal’ was bred in Sweden and is fully hardy and self-fertile.
