Juglans regia has a light gray, deeply grooved trunk, young branches are grey-brown. After leaf development, the green, male catkins (about 7 cm) and the smaller female flowers appear, which are grouped in groups of 2 or 3. The green, almost round, fruit has a smooth husk that is still short, glandularly hairy in the beginning. The light brown nut is grooved. Particularly tasty. Walnuts are rich in protein and unsaturated fats; source of vitamin B, vitamin E and folic acid. Nuts only appear in about 15 year old specimens.
