The foliage of Cornus kousa ‘China Girl’ is dark green above and blue-green below. Leaf margin slightly wavy. The autumn color is purple-red. Each flower head is surrounded by four large bracts that overlap slightly. The bracts turn from white-green to creamy white and do not turn pink when they bloom. It may produce large red strawberry-like fruits of approximately 2,5 cm. These are edible. Host for butterflies, food tree for birds.
