In mid-April, the outgrowth of the freshly green colored leaves takes place, so earlier than the common beech (Fagus).
The advantage of this tree is the easily recovery after pruning. The autumn color is dark yellow.
The Carpinus betulus is a maintenance friendly tree, as it hardly suffers from diseases and therefore can grow very old.
