The young twigs of this lime tree are reddish brown, especially on the sunny side.
The glossy dark green leaves turn yellow in autumn.
The relatively small leaves are heart-shaped to triangular. The leaf edges of ‘Buda’ are serrated.
The tips of the branches and twigs hang down slightly, which makes ‘Buda’ elegantly different from the species Tilia mongolica.
It blooms inconspicuously with cream-colored flowers in June-July.
This Tilia is less affected by aphids.
